SWEET AND SOUR CABBAGE
Dice 1 pound bacon and 1 large onion. Cook until crisp. Grate 1 large head red cabbage, and barely cover with water. Add bacon, onion, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup vinegar, 1 tablespoon salt. Cook until cabbage is tender (at least one hour).
CORN CASSEROLE
Drain 2 quarts corn (preferably fresh or fresh frozen). In casserole dish, add 1 cup diced red pepper, 1 cup diced green pepper, 2 cups diced onion, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp. salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well, then add 2 cups half&half and 2 cups fine cracker crumbs. Mix again. Top with 2 more cups cracker crumbs. Melt 3/4 cup butter and pour over the top of the dish. Bake for 1 hour at 350degrees.
BAKED BEANS
Dice 1 pound bacon and cook until golden brown. Drain and set aside. Cook 1 pound hamburger and 2 cups chopped onion until done. In large pot or casserole add 2 cans pork&beans, 2 cans lima beans, 2 cans kidney beans, 2 cans butter beans. Add hamburger, onion, bacon. Mix.
Make sauce: 3/4 cup catsup, 1 teaspoon salt, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, 2 tablespoons vinegar, 2 tablespoons garlic powder, 2 tablespoons onion powder, 1 tablespoon dry mustard. Pour over above.
Cook slowly over top of stove for 1 1/2 hours, or bake in oven for 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.
