Whiterock
Resort has
a long history of welcoming visitors from foreign countries.
Khrushchev visited the farm in 1959. Russians (and all eastern
Europeans) still enjoy visiting the historic farm they learned about in school.
The Resort provides
programming for the Iowa Council for International Understanding and the Garst Farm has
hosted, over decades, many guests from around the world. The
former manager, Liz Garst, speaks Spanish and has traveled
widely. She frequently provides workshops for
international visitors, on topics including American Banking, Agriculture, Non-Profit
Management and Economic Development.
In addition to history
and educational programming, International Visitors enjoy the many opportunities to plug into "real life" in the American Midwest,
and to enjoy the many activities available at the Resort and in the area.
Accommodations for groups of 1 to 25 are available. The
Resort has a 15 passenger van for transportation of small groups.
