Frohlich's Grocery Store is a full service grocery. Gary's Antiques sells antiques, and the Ribbon &Roses sells collectibles and crafts. New Hope Village Bargain Shoppe, run by volunteers to benefit the area home for people with disabilities, is a real hit with Resort guests. Big bargains can be found here....t-shirts cost 5 cents! The TruValue Hardware
store and the Coon Rapids Pharmacy are real mainstays of Main Street, and in both you can find Coon Rapids momentos. The TruValue sells hunting and fishing licenses. The convenience store on the Highway rents videos, and it doubles as the local liquor store. The Coon Rapids Enterprise office is decorated with relics from Coon Rapids' past, including the dental chair from Ol' Doc Whistler's time, and beautiful photos from the Khruschev visit. The west entrance of the Iowa Savings Bank provides our local ATM machine. Visit Windy Ridge Flowers, just up the hill from the River House, to pick out flowers for your wedding, or buy a bottle of Iowa wine! The flower shop telephone number is 712-684-5184.
The Coon Rapids Public Library is a beautiful place, with comfortable reading spots, an area for children, Internet access, and a nice magazine collection. A magnificent microfilm collection of the Coon Rapids Enterprise from the 1890s to present is available. A photocopy machine is available (10 cents/copy). The hours are generally 11-8 weekdays, and Saturday 10-4pm.
